Meet Sluggo

Most designers understand aesthetics. I make the effort to understand people. Armed with a Master's in Counseling and over a decade of brand strategy experience, he brings behavioral insight to every visual system he builds — designing not just for how things look, but for how audiences think, feel, and respond. That combination of clinical empathy and creative rigor has made him equally effective leading design infrastructure at a national retailer, directing student design teams in a university setting, and shaping brand authority for a fast-moving privacy company.

Sluggo's Journey

I took an unconventional route into design — combining a Master’s in Counseling with over a decade in brand strategy to create work rooted in human behavior. From retail design systems to university classrooms to technologu branding, his approach has always been the same: design that connects with people, not just pixels.

Ever wonder what’s going on inside someone’s head? I do too but mine is usually somewhere between psychology, branding, and “why did they choose that font?” Click the button and take a tour through how my brain works.

The Educator

Teaching graphic design at the community college level is some of the most meaningful work I do. I believe that hard work, genuine effort, and a little bit of magic can transform a student's life—and I've seen it happen. My approach is rooted in meeting students where they are, helping them build real skills while nurturing the creative spark that brought them to design in the first place. Community college students often arrive with untapped potential and big ambitions, and there's nothing more rewarding than watching them grow into confident designers ready to make their mark.
